Church History

Our journey of faith began March 29, 1992, after the sunset of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.  Deacon Damon Turnipseed asked the remaining congregation if they would like to remain together.  This was the beginning of Good Street Baptist Church which held its first service on April 1, 1992, at Dodd-Sterling United Methodist Church.   

Immediately, we set out to make our ministry official.  After drafting our Constitution and By-Laws lead by Brother Major Hollis and forming the Church Council, we elected to change our name to Divine Unity Missionary Baptist Church on August 14, 1992.  To God be the Glory for the things He has done.  On September 29, 1992, our incorporation was official.  

On April 29, 1997, God blessed Divine Unity MBC  beyond measures with our present facility.  Singing songs of Zion and praising God,  we marched into our new home on May 4, 1997.  Over the years we have come through storms and rain, survived sickness and pain divinely united in faith and trusting in the Lord.
